The University of Palermo (UNIPA) is a consolidated cultural, scientific and teaching presence in central-western Sicily with more than 40.000 students currently active. UNIPA has been among the founders of the Italian LCA Network, is currently involved in a partnership with SDSN and is leading subtasks within International Energy Agency. UNIPA is also partner of the European Energy Research Alliance Joint Program on Energy storage, focusing on the environmental sustainability of energy storage systems.

UNIPA provides research expertise for developing methodologies for Climate neutrality for sustainable transition, and helping with the creation of PED assessment tool. UNIPA collaborates with Demo Leaders under the coordination of AAU for the strategy of transfer of KINETIC approach, based on a comprehensive analysis of administrative and technical barriers, performed together with Urbasofia.
